BOARD OF EXAMINERS OF PSYCHOLOGISTS
APPLICATION FOR LICENSURE VIA RECIPROCITY
(OAC, Title 59§1366)
According to the Psychologists Licensing Act, it is mandatory that all persons who wish to represent themselves as a psychologist, and/or practice psychology by offering psychological services to the public be licensed by this Board. Section 1366(2) states that the Board may issue a license to any person who is a diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology, or who holds a current Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards.

Once all items have been received at the board office, your application will be sent to a committee for review. Upon approval by the committee, you may practice on your out of state license for one year in order to complete the requirements for licensure in Oklahoma. Pursuant to Title 59, O.S. §1353 (11) For one (1) year, the activities and services of a person who has recently become a resident of this state and has had his or her application for licensing accepted by the Board, and if the person was authorized by the laws of the state or country of his or her former residence to perform such activities and services.
The Board requires all licensees to pass a Jurisprudence Examination which covers the Oklahoma Psychologists Licensing Act and Rules of the Board, as well as other pertinent mental health laws. Upon approval of your application, you may schedule a time to sit for the JP examination by contacting the board office. Information regarding the JP examination is available on the website www.psychology.ok.gov. Licensure will be issued after successfully passing the JP Examination.
