State Regents Approve Budget Request
With fall enrollment at Oklahoma's public colleges and universities reaching an all-time high of 193,462 students and up 9 percent since 2008, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education voted recently to request a 5.5 percent appropriation increase for FY2012.

Execution Date Set for Alverson
The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals today set
January 6, 2011, as the execution date for Tulsa County death row
inmate Billy Don Alverson. The attorney general?s office requested the
execution date on Nov. 1 after the U.S. Supreme Court denied Alverson?s
final appeal.
