Okmulgee Police and OSBI Agents have arrested a suspect in last week's murder of 43-year-old Tammy Harjo. She was found inside her home beaten to death Friday (5/2/08) morning.

Several people saw an individual walk up to her house Thursday evening. Those witnesses helped OSBI Forensic Artist Harvey Pratt to sketch a likeness of that person. That sketch coupled with information provided by the community enabled law enforcement to pin point Jason Wayne Harjo as a possible suspect. Police questioned Harjo this morning. Based on that interview, the 18 year old was arrested on a first degree murder complaint.

The suspect and victim are not related but did know each other.
