A portrait of U.S. Treasurer Houston B. Teehee will be dedicated in the House Chamber on Thursday, May 8 at 10:30. The painting, by Oklahoma City artist Christopher Nick, is a gift of Cherokee Nation Tourism.
Teehee was a Cherokee who brought honor and recognition to his country. He served in a number of capacities including mayor of Tahlequah, state representative for Cherokee County, Registrar of the U.S. Treasury under President Woodrow Wilson and Assistant Attorney General of Oklahoma among other positions.
A reception will follow in the House Lounge where the media and guests can visit with the artist and sponsors.
