The State Senate will hear a resolution TODAY, February 10 recognizing the accomplishments and talent of Oklahoma singer Wanda Jackson.
Senate Resolution 6, authored by Senators Harry Coates, Charlie Laster and Steve Russell, will be heard at 1:00 p.m. in the Senate chamber.
This year, Jackson will be the first female Oklahoman to be inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. She's also a member of the International Gospel Hall of Fame, the Oklahoma Country Music Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
Jackson charted 30 country hits from 1954 to 1974, and twice was nominated for a Grammy Award for "Best Country Vocal Performance by a Female."
Jackson will be attending the event along with her family and will be available afterwards for photos and autographs in the Senate lounge.
