The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is participating in this year's national Take Your Daughter or Son to Work Day. Thirty children ranging between 9-to-15 years old will spend their morning at OSBI headquarters learning about crime scene investigations, polygraph examinations, forensic art and Internet crimes against children.
In the afternoon, the kids will meet at the new OSBI Forensic Science Center in Edmond where they will conduct tests similar to the ones criminalists run during case work.
OSBI hopes this will give the kids some basis of knowledge of work performed by their parents each day. It will also give them ideas for a possible career choice.
The Director of OSBI, DeWade Langely, will address the students promptly at 9 o'clock to impress upon them the importance of staying out of trouble so they can one day work as an agent or criminalist for a law enforcement agency like the OSBI.
Media is welcome to attend. Please contact Jessica Brown if your organization wants to cover this first-time event for OSBI.
