OSBI will hold a dedication ceremony May 1st at the new Forensic Science Center at 800 E. 2nd in Edmond. The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. just outside the front doors which faces 2nd street.
The keynote speaker is Lt. Governor Jari Askins. Askins played a key role in obtaining the funding for this project several years ago. Many other state and local dignitaries will attend.
The new 86,000 square feet facility will allow the OSBI to house more equipment, therefore, work more productively. The building also allows for space to expand as new forensic technology gives law enforcement an edge on crime fighting. The new building houses the following disciplines: toxicology, drugs, trace evidence, ballistics, biology, and serology.
The media is welcome to attend. A 24 channel press feed will be available to record audio. Any questions, please call Jessica Brown at 879-2591.
