Statewide Discussion:
No significant fire control issues are anticipated in Oklahoma at this time. Fire danger is not expected to materialize in most of Oklahoma through midweek. Elevated dew points combined with drizzle, fog and some snow chances will boost fine-dead fuel moisture and limit fire occurrence. Mid-week precipitation chances have potential to further suppress fire danger through the work-week ahead of a potential drying trend beginning around the weekend.
Special Note to Firefighters: The second issue of the Oklahoma Wildland Tailgate Series has been released. It is a good time to brush up on wildland skills with your personnel before the fire season kicks into full swing.
Remember??? ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma's wildlands responsibly.
Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
