Oklahoma City resident Ernestine “Ernie” Mbroh was named Transit Programs Division Manager for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in March 2013. In her role with the Transit Programs Division, she is responsible for managing both urban and rural public transit programs and administering technical assistance and funding for public transportation providers in Oklahoma. Through federal and state grants administered by ODOT, many communities in Oklahoma provide bus routes and other public transit services, which are especially important for the elderly and those with disabilities to remain independent and active.
Mbroh has more than 20 years of experience with ODOT, beginning as a Drafting Technician in the Roadway Design Division in 1991. She also served as a Transportation Specialist in the Traffic Engineering Division, Special Projects Coordinator for the Transportation Enhancement Program, Contract Administrator in the Project Management Division, Director of the Safe Routes to School Program and Assistant Division Manager of the Civil Rights Division.
Mbroh graduated from Oklahoma State University with degrees in Landscape Architecture and Industrial Engineering. She has three brothers and one sister and lives in southwest Oklahoma City.
