Outreach Services to Deaf Students (DRS-OSD)

Oklahoma Legislatures have designated the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur as the Statewide Resource Center on deafness to meet the needs of deaf children and school districts across the state (House Concurrent Resolution #1026, 1982).

As the resource center on deafness for the state, we offer the following various services to Local Education Agencies free of charge:

1. Deaf Education Consultation

• Each Deaf or Hard of Hearing student’s IEP requires a certified Deaf Educator to sign their IEP to meet state and federal guidelines.

2. Evaluations

• Three-year evaluations are provided on our campus in Sulphur.

3. Exams

• Free audiological exams are also offered at our campus.

4. Resources

• OSD provides a lending library of various books, videos and materials on deafness and sign language.
