OKLAHOMA CITY (May 13, 2014) – The Oklahoma State Department of Education has launched a new transparency website for the public that houses all school district financial information reported through the Oklahoma Cost Accounting System (OCAS).
“This new site gives the public a one-stop shop where it will be much easier to find information on per-pupil, school and state expenditures and revenues” State Superintendent Janet Barresi said. “I must thank the people from our finance department who spent hours working to update this Website to make it more user-friendly. Transparency in the spending of taxpayer dollars is of the utmost importance in maintaining a free society.”
The site contains Oklahoma Public School Districts' expenditures, cost descriptions, amounts of funds spent, types of transactions and current per pupil expenditure figures. The database does not include voluntary payroll deductions for employees to receiving parties.
The site also contains state expenditure and revenue reports, state expenditure details and an updated explanation on the statewide per-pupil expenditure from National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
Directions on how to navigate the site are at the bottom of the home page.
