The new documentary film "Bully," directed by filmmaker Lee Hirsch, brings human faces to the startling statistics, offering an intimate look at how bullying has touched five kids and their families. This film has helped raise awareness to the problem students face in our schools every day. A reported 38,709 bullying incidents involved our students in Oklahoma during the 2010-2011 school year.
Now that we know about the problem, what can we do about it?
If you or your students plan to attend or have already attended this powerful movie, I would recommend using the free study guide to the film developed by Facing History and Ourselves. Download your free copy of “Guide to the Film BULLY: Fostering Empathy and Action in Schools.” This guide includes pre-viewing and post-viewing activities to turn this movie into a thought-provoking, educational resource.
