The Parent and Community Engagement office at the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) is excited to announce the First Annual Oklahoma Family Engagement Night to be held in schools across the state. This event is a statewide effort for schools, communities and families to INTENTIONALLY come together to better support their students.
Even though the date of Feb. 21, 2013 is the designated date, schools are encouraged to host an event, as their calendar allows, with the intent of engaging and involving parents and community members. Schools are encouraged to register their event on the website in an effort to gain a statewide view of this project
This website provides templates to use for hosting the Oklahoma Family Engagement Night as well as other resources such as; theme ideas, downloadable information for participants, power points, etc.
We are also encouraging schools that have had success in Parent and Community involvement to share ideas and best practices with the office of Parent and Community Engagement so the resource page becomes a living document. In that same idea, if there is information that is needed and not on the page, contact the Parent and Community Engagement office to request it.
