Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)

Oklahoma submitted a request to the U.S. Department of Education for waivers of certain ESEA requirements.  These waivers, if granted, will allow the State to implement a series of reforms that will lead to college, career, and citizen readiness of all students.  The reforms are explained in the waiver request below, which was developed with input from educators and the public.
