Boot Camp Candidate Toolkit


The Boot Camp Candidate Toolkit assists candidates interested in participating in the preparation program to fulfill the requirements of the Non-Traditional Route to Special Education Certification as outlined in HB1233, approved by the State Board of Education. Listed below are guidelines and resources to fulfill the requirements for the Boot Camp program. 

 

Future Candidates

Examples of candidates include: teacher assistant/school staff with a Bachelor's degree, person interested in changing careers, person interested in working with students with special needs. Candidates interested in the program may complete an application and submit the completed form electronically. (Copies of current drivers license and college transcript should be scanned and sent electronically along with the application). Upon completion of the application, candidates will be considered for approval through the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Special Education Services division and will be provided appropriate notice of acceptance or denial.
