REAC3H Professional Development Opportunities Around the Corner

All Oklahoma School District leaders should register themselves and up to 30 teacher-leaders for REAC3H Regional professional development opportunities, which begin Aug. 2. The trainings provide an in-depth analysis of the Oklahoma Academic Standards and will give participants a better understanding of what the standards ask students to do, significant shifts in instruction, and strategies teachers can effectively implement into their curriculum and teaching practices.
 

TLE October Newsletter | All-Call for Value-Added Measure (VAM) Working Groups!

AP Grant Award Winners Announced

The Oklahoma State Department of education is announcing the recipients of 70 Advanced Placement (AP) Grants, totaling over $500,000.

The grants were approved at the Jan. 23 meeting of the State Board of Education. A panel of over 30 AP teachers and administrators from across the state volunteered their time to review the applications and recommend where to send the awards.

OKTOY Blog: Oklahoma Music Educators Conference


A couple weeks ago I attended the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OMEA) annual state conference in Tulsa.

I cannot reiterate enough the value of professional development and reconnecting with colleagues. Of course, this year was a little exceptional in the latter category due to the OKTOY recognition (My face was on the cover of the conference magazine. That took a little getting used to!). As I met with each new and old friend, we excitedly talked about the incredible good that we, music teachers, are able to accomplish.
