Waurika Man Arrested for Sexual Communication with a Minor

By request of the Lawton Police Department, the OSBI opened an investigation last month involving an allegation of inappropriate texting between a 42-year-old Waurika man and a 15-year-old female. December 20, 2012, Robert Gutierrez, Jr. (d.o.b. 9-27-1970) turned himself into the Jefferson County Jail. Gutierrez, a reserve officer for the city of Ryan at the time, was charged with Engaging in Sexual Communication with a Minor by Use of Technology. A $20,000 bond was set by the court.

Gutierrez was the foster parent of the teenager several months prior to the explicit texts. The girl’s current foster parent alerted police to the crime.
