The Forensic Biology Unit includes the sub-disciplines of Serology and DNA analysis.
Serology is the identification of body fluids including blood and other biological materials.
Current DNA analysis is accomplished using the Polymerase Chain Reaction in combination with Short Tandem Repeats.
The Forensic Biology Unit mainly work sexual assaults, burglaries, and homicides. |
