Grant Application and Reporting
The grant application process is open annually for proposed highway safety projects.
The grant application period for FY16 is open from December 29, 2014 through January 31, 2015.
The Oklahoma Highway Safety Office (OHSO) receives funds each year from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to promote traffic safety initiatives within the State of Oklahoma. The OHSO solicits applications for proposed grant projects related to highway safety. Projects should be designed to combat the number and severity of traffic crashes by developing and supporting educational, enforcement and engineering programs, as stated in the OHSO Mission.
The contract period coincides with the Federal Fiscal Year, which runs from October 1 through September 30. All grant applications must contain sufficient documentation outlining the project goal(s), description, cost and evaluation benchmarks. The project goal(s) must be consistent with the OHSO Statewide goals.

OHSO's grant application review process normally takes place during the months of April and May. All grant applications are reviewed for content, quality and timeliness. Since the amount of federal grant money is limited and may vary from year to year, some proposed projects may not be funded. All applicants will be notified through the OKGrants online system after the review process is completed.
