The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) Substance Abuse Recovery Division's (SARD) goal is to provide persistent, incremental improvements in the quality and effectiveness of substance abuse treatment which results in better recovery for more people. SARD embraces that "recovery is a reality" and that it gives back to individuals, families and communities what addiction has taken away. SARD contracts with 84 substance abuse providers, operates 5 state residential treatment facilities, has 9 gambling contracts and is in partnerships with 3 advocacy organizations. These facilities are located throughout the state and offer services to all individuals and their families in need of treatment and support services. Services provided are designed to meet an individual's need through the provision of assessments, referrals, detoxification, outpatient counseling, residential treatment, substance abuse education, transitional living, and aftercare services. SARD also offers programs that are designed for special populations, such as criminal justice, women with children, adolescents, Hispanics and Native Americans.
