Behavioral Health Case Management Fee FAQ's

1. If I am a state employee, do I have to pay applicant or renewal fees?

• Yes. State employees are not exempt from fees.  Only ODMHSAS employees are exempt from the initial fee of $25.00 application fee and the $15.00 renewal fee.  No one is exempt from the Exam fee or any Late fees.

2. If I am a state employee, do I have to pay late fees?

• Yes. State agencies do not normally pay the late fees, but you are still responsible for the late fees associated with not renewing certification by December 31 as outlined in the Chapter 50 Standards.  No one, including ODMHSAS employees, is exempt from late fees.

 3.What forms of payment are accepted by the department for fees?  I want to pay electronic for my application. How can I do that? 

• We request that payment be made by money order or check; made payable to ODMHSAS "Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services".

 4. How much does it cost to attend the training?

• At this time there is no additional cost. The cost of the training is included with the application fee.

 5. If an agency paid for a person (to take an exam/application/etc.) and they no longer work for that agency. Can I have a credit to use that money for another person?

• The money used towards an applicant is processed with that applicant. Once the person is approved, you are not eligible for a refund, even if they leave your agency.
• If the application was never approved, The agency is welcome to request a refund in writing. This will be processed in accordance with the departments finance policy. It will not be held for credit towards another application.

6. If my application was returned for corrections, will an additional fee be required to continue the application process?

• No, the money provided with the initial application will be used towards that applicant's application. It is not returned with the application, but deposited in accordance with the departments' finance policy.

 7. I am unable to locate my certificate. How can I obtain another certificate?

• We will be more than happy to replace your certificate. 
• If you want an original brown/green certificate. there will be a charge for this service.  Please refer to our
Chapter 50 Standards regarding fees. 
•
We can email you an electronic copy of your certificate that you can print and there is no charge for this service. 

8. I am an ODMHSAS employee and paid for my initial application fees. How can that money be returned to me?

• Applicants will have to make a request for a refund in writing. The request will go to the finance division and if a refund is due, it will be issued in accordance with that divisions' policy.

9. If an applicant has attempted certification process and for some reason, cannot proceed, how can a refund be issued?

• Applicants will have to make a request for a refund in writing. The request will go to the finance division and a refund will be issued in accordance with that divisions' policy.  The applicant will have to pay fees in accordance with Chapter 50 Standards if the applicant decides to apply at a later date.
