Overview of ODMHSAS Certification Process for Renewing Programs

The following highlights the general processes for organizations desiring to achieve an ODMHSAS Certification status. More specific information is available by call Provider Certification at 405-522-3800, emailing at cladd@odmhsas.org or reviewing related administrative code in Subchapter Chapter 9 of OAC 450. http://www.ok.gov/odmhsas/documents/Chapter_1_Final_Effective_07-01-11[1].pdf

Programs Desiring to Renew an ODMHSAS Certification

  1. Provider Certification will send each provider a notice that Certification will soon expire. The notices usually are sent out 60 days prior to expiration. That notice will include renewal instructions, copies of required reapplication forms, and sets a tentative site visit date.
  1. When renewal application fees and materials are received, a reviewer will be assigned, and the renewal visit will be conducted. If deficiencies are cited, Certification staff will send a report to outline corrections that must be completed within timeframes specified in standards.
  1. If needed, a follow-up review is scheduled to determine status of pending deficiencies.
  1. If the follow-up review (or initial renewal site review) results in 100% compliance on all standards, ODMSHAS can recommend a Certification renewal to the ODMHSAS Board. The type of Certification recommended is based on the Quality Clinical scores verified during the initial renewal site visit.
  • One-year Certification if compliance on 51% of Quality Clinical Standards at renewal (and all deficiencies have eventually been corrected on all standards).
  • Two-year Certification if compliance on 75% of Quality Clinical at renewal (and all deficiencies have eventually been corrected on all standards).
  • Three-year Certification with Distinction if compliance on 90% Quality Clinical at renewal (and all deficiencies have eventually been corrected on all standards). Note: Community Residential Mental Health facilities eligible for only one year (when all deficiencies have eventually been corrected on all standards).
  • Three-year Certification with Special Distinction if compliance on 90% of Quality Clinical at renewal PLUS accreditation (and all deficiencies have eventually been corrected on all standards).
