OKLAHOMA APPLIED RESEARCH SUPPORT
What is OARS?
The Oklahoma Applied Research Support (OARS) program is a funding program of the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST) that invests in innovative technologies with commercial potential. This incentive funding is designed to increase investment in R&D of new technologies that will ultimately bring value to the state of Oklahoma.
- Award amounts up to $300,000
- OARS awards nearly $4 million annually
- Over the last 25 years OARS has attracted more than $17.50 for every state dollar invested
- Third party validation of innovation
- Funds unproven, risky ideas and innovation
OARS can provide up to $300,000 in funding for innovative research to universities, non-profit research foundations, or businesses based in Oklahoma. The only criteria for funding are reasonable potential for commercialization, technical merit of research, and the ability to perform the research.
